Cold chain experts are certified with CompetenceX
Mobie Oy trains and certifies cold chain experts on its CompetenceX learning platform for the use of the Coldest Chain refrigerated transport system in Colombia, Mexico and Spain. The agreement is a significant opening for Mobie: Finnish education technology is now directly linked to the green transformation of global logistics, i.e. an industry worth more than 12 trillion dollars and employing tens of millions of professionals.
The distribution agreement between Coldest Chain Oy and the Colombian Isoen Smart Solutions will bring a patented, passive refrigerated transport system to the food and pharmaceutical logistics of the three countries. However, new technology is only as good as its users: every driver, warehouse worker and quality controller must be trained and certified to keep the cold chain unbroken. This work is done on Mobie’s CompetenceX platform: with the same certification model and multilingual in all agreement countries.
Cold chain experts are now certified on Mobie’s CompetenceX platform
Instead of a one-time training project, it is a continuous certification system: each new market, logistics company and employee increases the number of trainees, and the certifications are renewed regularly. CompetenceX scales with the box stock: when the refrigerated transport system expands to new countries, the training expands in the same proportion without Mobie having to build a local organization. At the same time, a reference is created that opens doors to competence and compliance training for the entire logistics industry.
Certification competence is also a requirement of regulation: operators in food and pharmaceutical transport are required to have documented competence and self-monitoring in practically all markets, and the requirements are becoming stricter. Digital certification, which produces a verifiable competence register, solves this need in a scalable manner.
Mobie’s strength: verified certification expertise in demanding industrial environments
Mobie does not start logistics certification from scratch. The CompetenceX platform is already used by large international companies to certify safety-critical skills: Klinger Oy’s flange joint installer training, Cranop Oy’s telehandler load training, mining industry safety courses in cooperation with Mining Finland, training for FOC required for NATO business, and the Finnish Lifeboat Society’s maritime safety training. It is precisely in such environments that the requirements are high: competence must be verified, performance documented, and certificates must withstand audits. The same expertise is now being transferred to cold chain logistics.
CompetenceX serves as a flexible production and distribution platform for training materials up to mobile devices and enables on-the-job learning regardless of time and place: the training is taken to where the work takes place. A QR code attached to the device puts the right training at hand, for example, at the loading dock, the performances are displayed in real time, and each passed final exam produces a digital certificate that can be linked to a broader certification and accreditation system. Artificial intelligence speeds up content production significantly: the training body, illustrations, exercises and even a multilingual podcast are created based on the source material, and a course-specific AI chatbot supports the learner in any language. Therefore, the content stays up to date with product and regulatory changes without weeks of manual updating work – a crucial advantage when the same certification is taken to dozens of markets.
Cold chain experts as part of a large field
According to Precedence Research, the global logistics market is valued at around $12.7 trillion in 2026 and is projected to nearly double to around $24 trillion by 2035. Cold chain logistics alone is worth hundreds of billions of dollars and is growing at an annual rate of 7–8%. The industry employs tens of millions of people – for example, nearly 18 million people work in the logistics sector in China, nearly 5 million in Brazil, and more than 6 million in the US transport and warehousing sector. It is this group that needs continuous skills and certification training.
According to Precedence Research, the global logistics market is valued at approximately $12.7 trillion in 2026 and is projected to nearly double to approximately $24 trillion by 2035, with an annual growth rate of more than 16%. Mobie is positioning itself at the intersection of these two growing markets: the green transition in logistics will create an entirely new, regulatory-driven training need that is not served by typical LMS vendors with industry-specific certification.
